Hmm..

Just got my hands on a laptop for me to check on this a little closer. A smartphone is not the best tool to check on log snippets :-(

So looks as if a couple of things going on

Registering vCenter Server Inventory Service... Picked up JAVA_TOOL_OPTIONS: -Xms16M -Xmx128M
failed
Please, restart vmware-vpxd to enable the Inventory Service.

But later on

Shutting down ldap-server..done
Starting ldap-server..done
Starting vmware-vpxd: success
Waiting for vpxd to initialize: .success
Starting tomcat: success
Executing startup scripts...

Followed by

2013-01-28 10:43:37 +0000 END 4481

2013-02-11 15:09:56 +0000 BEGIN 31706
/etc/init.d/vmware-vpxd status
vmware-vpxd is stopped
tomcat is running

If this was an only deployment, I'd have suggested redeployment, but if this is happening repeatedly, could be something else going on.

Could you let me know how many hosts do you have connected to the VCVA?

Also would it be possible to generate a support bundle from the VCVA and upload it here?
