Do you get any error's like this one?
I get it from playback only also on a Linux Mint VM, and like you I can simply reconnect it and it works for a while.
As I don't really need sound I have just lived with it. Just curious if you get the error.
I'll be interested to fix it though if anyone posts a fix.
