There has been some disucssion on this forum on when the VCP-5 (DV) exam will be updated with 5.1 content. The consensus answer has been, "check the blueprint", if the blueprint is updated, then the exam is updated.
My question is, can we can an authoritative answer from VMware Learning on IF the exam will ever be updated for 5.1?
On the Pearson site (VMware Press) for the VCP 5 certification guide, there is this statement which indicates that the exam will not be updated.
Per VMware Education Services, the current blueprint which controls the questions on the VCP510 test is valid until the next major revision of vSphere software. vSphere 5.1 is NOT a major revision and therefore the blueprint will not change because of its release. Since the blueprint will not change, the test will be unaffected by the release of vSphere 5.1. There will be no questions on the VCP510 test that specifically address capabilities in vSphere 5.1 that are not part of or are different from vSphere 5.0. The reader should prepare for the VCP510 test as if vSphere 5.1 does not exist.
That statement comes from here - http://www.pearsonitcertification.com/store/official-vcp5-certification-guide-9780789749314 see the 'Update' link.
Thanks in advance,
