Hi,
I am trying to do SAML integration of on-premise JIRA with cloud IDM.
Has anyone done this SAML integration with on -premise JIRA or have any guide available for this please?

Welcome to the Community,
it should work to uninstall v14, and the reinstall v12. Please make sure that you reboot your system after uninstalling v14, and before installing v12.
If - for whatever reason - the v12 installation still complaints about an existing newer version, then take a look at https://kb.vmware.com/s/article/1308 for how to do a clean uninstallation.
Although it might be possible to start the VM from the suspended state again after reinstalling v12, the recommendation is to shutdown VMs prior to running upgrades.

You're getting a failure because you are not using a FQDN (hostname plus domain name) which you *must* use. And, yes, you *must* have forward and reverse DNS records created for this system before you deploy it. These records must be present in the DNS server you specified in your installer process. If you don't have DNS correctly, go build DNS first.
Wila,
Thanks for your reply.
But when I uninstall 14, and re-install 12, will 12 recognize the suspended VM and be able to un-suspend it.
14 did when I changed from 12 to 14 - it recognized the suspended state.
There are no guarantees about this - correct ?
Hi,
Normally you should just be able to resume the VM.
You never were able to resume the VM in Workstation 14 from what I read so it still has the workstation 12 suspended state.

Have you tried to upgrade the vCSA from 5.5 to 6.5 (or 6.0)? From there, you can use your 6.x license and even go to 6.7. Keep in mind that vCenter 6.7 cannot manage ESXi hosts of version 5.5.
OK thanks, I missed VCP showed already the course requirement and says recommended for VCA, but did not know VCA also had changed the exam requirements skills.

David
Wila,
Thanks again.
Typically when you uninstall VWare, like I am with 14, is the install clean, that is, the installer will remove everything ?
I have read sometimes registry keys are not cleaned up and I might get the "This product installer does not support downgrades.".
Is is typical for an un-install not to be a clean un-install ?
> No way to to downgrade and get 12 WS working again.
Same here:
We need to use LTS 18.04.
WS v.12.5.9 does not start.
Of course other 'newer machines' do run with WS 14.
Stupid game.
Replacing old, full blown test machines, because some programmers need to save some code lines.
If Apple wants to sell new hardware. Well...
But VMware...?
Hi,
It should be clean and if not we'll continue with steps for cleaning manually.

Wila,
Ok thanks, I will give it a try and see what happens.

Yes, that was the initial path I was taking, the migration path using the 6.0 iso mounted to windows and selecting the upgrade option connects everything accept it fails to connect to the vCSA 5.5 i'm trying to upgrade. I think because it's license has expired. Reading some of the support forums and licensing guide it reads vCSA needs to be licensed. This may be because I imported the database, it expired the trial on the newly deployed vCSA...? not sure
I think your only option here is to deploy a new vCSA and move your ESXi hosts over to it, then license it with your 6.x key.
When I do the install it asks me this:
I assume you mean "uninstall". Anyway, since you are going to install an older version, I'd suggest you uninstall everything so that you can do a clean installation.
André
Yes, I meant uninstall and corrected it.
Ok, I will uncheck the boxes and hopefully it will erase those things and do a clean un-install.
Thanks.
Thanks, it works.
What a relief.
